'rubbish' was a collaborative project between photographer, Stephen Norman Young, and me. 'rubbish' highlighted a rubbish stituation currently happening in Edinburgh and featured a series of posters that appeared all over Edinburgh, an exhibition of print design and photography, and a book.
'rubbish' is destined to become an archive of current life on the iconic Stead's Place on Leith Walk, Leith. There is a proposed demolition of the entire red sandstone block from the 1930s, in its place modern 7-storey buildings. A community is being made homeless, being moved on.
A photography and print design exhibition took place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2018. Two 'rubbish' books were first launched during, and were an accompaniment to, 'rubbish' the show.
All design and publishing for 'rubbish' was carried out by me.
